September 25th 2015-Provincial Stadium, Nakhon Sawan, Thailand Petch Sor Chitpattana (32-0, 21) Vs Eric Panza (8-4-1, 2) There has been much made of Floyd Mayweather Jr and his 49-0 record. Whilst it's impressive it's also a figure that we're likely to see broken numerous times over the coming years. One man who may well smash the figure sooner rather than later is Petch Sor Chitpattana, a 21 year old who fought for the 33rd time earlier today as he took on the limited Eric Panza. July 24th 2015- Siam Paradise Entertainment Centre, Ngam Wong Wan, Bangkok, Thailand Petch Sor Chitpattana (31-0, 20) Thai Bantamweight hopeful Petch Sor Chitpattana has made it clear that he wants a world title fight sooner rather than later, despite that he's been left waiting and as a result been fighting stay busy fights, such as this one with an unknown foe. The gulf in class here was evident early on, despite the fact it seemed that Petch never tried to get out of second gear. (Video courtesy of tko.in.th) June 2nd 2015- Ramintra , Bangkok, Thailand Petch Sor Chitpattana (30-0, 19) Vs Jayar Estremos (10-10, 4) WBC youth silver Bantamweight champion Petch Sor Chitpattana cooked to score his 31st straight win earlier today as he took on Filipino journeyman Jayar Estremos, who had previously gone 0-3 in bouts in Thailand. (Video courtesy of tko.in.th) March 27th 2015-Thailand Petch Sor Chitpattana (29-0, 19) Vs Jestoni Autida (7-2, 3) Unbeaten Thai Petch Sor Chitpattana has a pretty record on paper though is lacking a win of note as he has continued to battle novices and limited opposition whilst working his way, slowly, up the world rankings. In his most recent bout Petch fought Filipino visitor Jestoni Autida in another bout that, on paper, proved nothing of the well regarded Thai. (Video courtesy of tko.in.th) January 30th 2015- Chom Thong District Office, Bangkok, Thailand Petch Sor Chitpattana (28-0, 18) Vs Hou Tin Long (1-0) Whilst we love watching the Thai prospects develop we don't enjoy just how long it takes some of them to fight opponents with pulses. One example of a Thai taking his time is 21 year old Petch Sor Chitpattana who has claimed 3 WBC Youth titles but really hasn't faced a test in almost 30 bouts. In his most recent bout Petch took on Chinese novice Hou Tin Long, who looked several divisions smaller than Petch and was obviously lacking in experience. (Video courtesy of tko.in.th) June 27th 2014- Ayuthaya Night Bazzar, Ayutthaya, Thailand Petch Sor Chitpattana (24-0, 16) vs Gerpaul Valero (17-14-3, 11) Thailand's promising Petch Sor Chitpattana may not have been matched incredibly hard but it's to say he has faced one or two testing opponents, the most notable of which was the criminally under-rated Gerpaul Valero of the Philippines. Although on paper the bout was a mismatch in reality however it was an excellent match up between an unbeaten prospect looking to prove himself and an under-rated but tough opponent who was in great form. (Video courtesy of tko.in.th) January 27th 2012- Chom Thong District Office, Bangkok, Thailand Petch Sor Chitpattana (9-0, 8) Vs Charlie Cabilla (13-8-4, 2) In Thailand there are a lot of talented and unbeaten fighters who aren't very good, there are also a lot that are very good. Sometimes however it's a case of waiting until they fight someone decent before we know how good an unbeaten Thai is, even if they pass the "eye test". One fighter who appears to pass the "eye test" though stills question marks is Petch Sor Chitpattana. Sadly a lot of Petch's fights have come against questionable imports such as Charlie Cabilla who had been stopped in 5 of his 25 bouts coming into this one. (Video courtesy of YeahJustLikeChuckie) One of the numerous promising prospects from Thailand is Petch Sor Chitpattana. Petch has been a professional for a while and is slowly but carefully climbing up the ranks through a combination of accumulative wins and a growing quality of wins. The most recent of which came against against fellow south paw Jaymart Toyco, of the Philippines. The bout was a somewhat patient one for the most part though it was finished in some style by Petch who landed a perfect 1-2 to send Toyco down. Although the win was never in doubt Petch was forced to take a few shots of his own before stopping Toyco and recording his third defence of the WBC youth silver Bantamweight title. |
