October 18th 2004- Prefectural Gymnasium, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Jung-Bum Kim (22-2-1, 18) v Masakazu Satake (20-3-4, 13) We've not seen many Korean fighters make a name for themselves over the last decade, and that is sad. One of the last really notable Korean fighters was Jung Bum Kim [김정범], AKA "The Oriental Express". In 2004 he fought in one of his most notable bouts as he took on the then OPBF 140lb champion Satake Masakazu [佐竹政一] of Japan. If you've not seen Kim before then we really do recommend watching this one, which was his international debut. Note-The on screen graphic lists Kim as being 22-2-1 (17) |
