September 26th 2020-Central Gym, Kobe, Hyogo, Japan Toshi Shinyama (1-5) vs Kohei Miyamoto (2-1-1, 2) On a low key card in Kobe this past Saturday fights had the chance to see Toshi Shinyama and Kohei Miyamoto trade blows in a scheduled 4 rounder. September 26th 2020-Central Gym, Kobe, Hyogo, Japan Mika Iwakawa (9-5-1, 3) vs Nanae Suzuki (10-3-1, 1) This weekend has been a hectic one, with a lot of fights taking place around the globe. One of the many world title bouts to take place of the weekend was a WBO Atomweight title bout, with champion Mika Iwakawa [岩川 美花] taking on Nanae Suzuki [鈴木菜々江] in a very hotly contested bout. September 26th 2020-Central Gym, Kobe, Hyogo, Japan Marina Hamada (1-0) vs Rin Murai (1-0-1) This past Saturday Shinsei promoted a card in Kobe. The first bout on that show saw Marina Hamada and Rin Murai clashing in a 4 round female bout. September 26th 2020-Suamlum Night Bazaar, Ratchadaphisek, Bangkok, Thailand Atchariya Wirojanasunobol (12-0, 5) Vs Kaewfah Tor Buamas (29-6, 19) Earlier today in Thailand we saw the rematch between Atchariya Wirojanasunobol [อัจฉริยะ อำนาจมวยไทยยิม] and Kaewfah Tor Buamas [แก้วฟ้า สวนปาล์มฟาร์มนก], aka Krai Setthaphon. These two had previously clashed in a very close bout in May 2018. Sadly Atchariya was arrested in 2019 on drug charges that were later dropped. Due to those issues he had been out of the ring for over 2 years coming in to this bout. September 25th 2020-Rangsit International Stadium, Rangsit, Thailand Wanheng Menayothin (54-0, 18) Vs Knockout CP Freshmart (21-0, 7) Earlier today we had a notable televised exhibition/public sparring as unbeaten WBC Minimiumweight champion Wanheng Menayothin [วันเฮง ไก่ย่างห้าดาวยิม] and WBA champion Knockout CP Freshmart [น็อคเอาท์ ซีพีเฟรชมาร์ท] shared the ring as part of a Petchyindee show om Ringsit. November 28th 1983-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Takuya Muguruma (14-0, 9) vs Hiroyuki Iwamoto (25-7-3, 4) In 1983 future world champion Takuya Muguruma [六車卓也] challenged Japanese Super Bantamweight champion Hiroyuki Iwamoto [岩本弘行], who was looking for his 9th straight defense of the title. October 5th 1997-Kokugikan, Tokyo, Japan Yong Soo Choi (23-2, 13) Vs Takanori Hatakeyama (20-0, 16) I In 1997 we saw the WBA Super Featherweight champion Yong Soo Choi [최용수] travel from South Korea to Japan where he took on popular Japanese fighter Takanori Hatakeyama [畑山隆則] in the first of 2 sensational wars between the two men. This brutal contest set the stage for their rematch, which would take place 11 months later. |
