May 5th 2024-Paryeong Gymnasium, Goheung Jong Seon Kang (18-1-2, 9) vs Yu Che Li (8-4-2, 6) Earlier this month all action Korean hopeful Jong Seon Kang [강종선] faced off with Taiwanese fighter Yu Che Li in a bout for the WBO Global Featherweight title. Kang, one of the few active Korean fighters who has got the ability to mix on the international stage, had home support here, with the bout taking place in South Korea, though Li seemed the naturally bigger man in what was, unsurprisingly, a fan friendly bout with a lot of leather thrown.

May 5th 2024-Paryeong Gymnasium, Goheung Van Thao Tran (17-1, 10) vs Jakrawut Majungoen (44-4-2, 23) Earlier this month once beaten Vietnamese hopeful Van Thao Tran faced off with Thai veteran Jakrawut Majungoen, also known as Kongfah CP Freshmart, in a bout for the WBO Global Bantamweight title, with the men clashing on a Cocky Buffalo show in South Korea. The bout was the Thai's 51st professional bout, which is a staggering figure for a fighter who is still only 29! May 5th 2024-Paryeong Gymnasium, Goheung Olimjon Nazarov (30-5, 16) vs Sarawut Jiamthong (11-4, 10) Back on May 5th 38 year old Uzbekistani veteran Olimjon Nazarov faced off with Thai puncher Sarawut Jiamthong in South Korea. The two men were battling for the WBO International Flyweight title on a show promoted by Cocky Buffalo. Notably the WBO International Flyweight title had been held by some genuinely notable names, including Milan Melindo, Shiming Zou and Angel Acosta May 4th 2024-Spaceplus Bangkok RCA, Bangkok Pharabodee Phondilok (1-0) vs Amirhossein Esmaeili (0-0) This past weekend we saw novices collide in Thailand, as 1-fight Thai novice Pharabodee Phondilok faced off with debuting Iranian fighter Amirhossein Esmaeili, as part of TL Promotions "The Fighter" show. May 4th 2024-Spaceplus Bangkok RCA, Bangkok Sangkaphong Chomyong (6-0) vs Walid Halima Salem (5-0, 4) II Back in March we saw Sangkaphong Chomyong take a majority decision win over Algerian fighter Walid Halima Salem, who was unbeaten going into that bout. Given the hotly contested nature of that bout, we saw the two men rematch this past weekend in Bangkok. May 4th 202-Spaceplus Bangkok RCA, Bangkok, Thailand Sitthachak Soukkhaseum (0-0) vs Kasikrit Wanasuttha (1-8, 1) This past Saturday 18 year old debutant Sitthachak Soukkhaseum faced off with the limited Kasikrit Wanasuttha, in a bout in Bangkok. Coming into this Wanasuttha had had 9 bouts, scoring a solitary win, and had been stopped in 5 of his 8 losses. May 4th 2024- Spaceplus Bangkok RCA, Bangkok Chaiyapruk Chainikom (9-1, 4) vs Anong Teunchaleun (0-0) This past Saturday TL Promotions put on their latest show under the "The Fighter" banner. One of the bouts on that card saw 25 year old once beaten Thai hopeful Chaiyapruk Chainikom take on the debuting Anong Teunchaleun, from nearby Laos. April 17th 2024-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo Atsuki Sano (2-0, 2) vs Kai Yahagi (2-2-2) Earlier today promising Japanese youngster Atsuki Sano [佐野篤希] took on Kai Yahagi [矢作海] at Korakuen Hall in a 4 rounder at Flyweight. April 17th 2024-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo Koki Ishii (0-1) vs Kyohei Sugeta (0-0) Earlier today at Korakuen Hall we got a short but thrilling action bout as 19 year old Koki Ishii [石井幸折] took on 33 year old debutant Kyohei Sugeta [菅田恭平] in a clash at Featherweight March 24th 2024-Gwanakgu Hall, Seoul Chan Lee (1-0) vs Sung Keun Kang (1-0) Last month Korean fight fans saw Chan Lee and Seung Keun Kang clash in a 4 rounder. Both men were coming into this with 1-0 records with both winning their debuts, 4 round decisions, last December. |
