On May 19th Japanese fight fans at the Korakuen Hall will get the latest in the Dangan Ladies series. The show, headlined by a WBO female Light Flyweigh title bout, is a good looking card fill with notable female fighters, including an under-card bout with Chaoz Minowa. The poster clearly sells on the main event and makes the shows branding stand out. It's a solid poster for a solid female card.
On March 15th we see the 4th show in the Dangan Ladies series, where reason put on an all female show under their Dangan banner. The card isn't a big one but it is a notable one with a clear focus on Ayumi Goto, who fights in the main event for an OPBF title. The poster is a simple one and sells on it's 3 biggest names, Goto, Saemi Hanagata and Erika Hanawa, and although none of the fighters are big names it's a solid effort from Dangan.
On December 13th we get the next of the Dangan Ladies show, a triple title event with two Atomweight world title bouts and the first title bout featuring Chaoz Minowa. The card is a really interesting which features an excellent match up between Nao Ikeyama and Ayaka Miyao as well as the first defense of the WBA Atomweight world title by Yunoka Furukawa. The poster sells on the star talent of the show and it's certainly given a pink "female" theme.
On September 21st Japanese fight fan at the Korakuen Hall will get the chance to see the second Dangan Ladies show. The show, which features only female fighters, isn't a huge card but it is an interesting one with a several notable contests, including a rematch between WBO female Minimumweight champion Kumiko Seeser Ikehara and veteran challenger Kayoko Ebata. The under-card isn't the strongest but certainly has some notable bouts, including a very interesting debut. The poster is simple, almost elegant, and although it's nothing special it is a pretty nice looking poster.
We've seen well over 100 Dangan cards but to kick off this coming March we will be getting a unique one as we get the first Dangan Ladies show. The card, which features bouts only involving women, is headline by two OPBF female title bouts and is likely to begin a spin off of the Dangan cards. We're not sure how good this will be, but we do like the idea and wish that the show ends up being a success as it is a really interesting idea.
Every major fight needs good promotional posters. This part of AsianBoxing will try and feature some of those posters.
