To end this week Japanese fans get their first big show of the year. The show features two world title bouts and has seen two posters created for it. On the right we see the whole show poster, being sold on world champions Yu Kimura and Shinsuke Yamanaka. The poster features the shows name and various details, including the two main match ups. The other poster features just Yamanaka, and is based on his bout, which happens to be his 10th world title defense. The posters are both simple but they are both being sold on a recognisable star of the Japanese boxing scene.
This coming Thursday Asian fans get another world title fight as WBC Minimumweight champion Wanheng Menayothin defends his title against Japanese challenger Go Odaira. The bout, set to be screened on Channel 7, is thought to be a mismatch, but sees a determined challenger travelling with positive intentions. The poster however is a simple one with the two fighters, and some relevant information about both men, but it's an effective one with all the details that are needed.

To kick off March Japanese promoter Shinsei hold a notable show, the 50th "Real Spirits" card. The shows isn't a huge one but it is a notable one with several notable Japanese fighters competing on the card.
The poster of the show shows a number of those fighters, in a relatively interesting poster, though not one the stand out posters from the "Reap Spirits" series of shows.
We've seen well over 100 Dangan cards but to kick off this coming March we will be getting a unique one as we get the first Dangan Ladies show. The card, which features bouts only involving women, is headline by two OPBF female title bouts and is likely to begin a spin off of the Dangan cards. We're not sure how good this will be, but we do like the idea and wish that the show ends up being a success as it is a really interesting idea.
To end February Japanese fight fans in Tokyo will get the next in the "Excite Boxing" series. The card, headlined by Tsuyoshi Tameda, isn't a huge one but is one that probably will be provide some thrills and spills.
This coming Friday sees Kokiet promote their next show which features two notable fighters. One of those is promising local Paipharob Kokietgym, a Light Flyweight contender seeking his shot at a world title later this year, and Japan's Riku Kano, a talented teenager who is returning to Thailand for the first time in more than a year. As well as the images of the two men there is also a bout list and details in regards to the TV and venue.
This coming weekend is a big one for young Filipino fighters with a number of really talented youngsters in action in Cebu City. Among those promising are Super Bantamweight sensation Albert Pagara and the very talented Mark Magsayo, who are both featured on the poster. The poster features plenty of details of the card and although it could have done with listing some of the under-card it is a very solid effort from ALA.
On February 26th Thai outfit Kiatkreerin put on their next card, a simple show on Thairath that features a trio of bouts, including a contest featuring Olympic hero Manus Boonjumnong. The card isn't a huge one but the poster does make a great job of trying to catch the attention of those that see it.
On February 23rd Japanese fans at the Korakuen Hall get the chance to see an OPBF interim title fight between local fighter Suyon Takayama and Filipino visitor Joel dela Cruz. The bout will be on the next Dangan card, Dangan 154, and we've got to admit it;s one of our least favourite Dangan posters with Takayama taking up much of the poster space. It will work with it's audience, Takayama fans, but for everyone else it feels disappointing.
On February 20th Filipino fans get a treat with a show featuring a number of title bouts. The card, put on by United, is a really good local show and has a poster that features a host of fighters from the card. We won't pretend it's one of the best posters, or cards, ever but it is a very good poster for the level of show.
Every major fight needs good promotional posters. This part of AsianBoxing will try and feature some of those posters.
