This coming Wednesday fight fans in the Azeri capital of Baku get a low key card featuring one of the more notable Azeri professional fighters.
The notable name on this show is 34 year old Rauf Aghayev (22-6, 10) who will look to score his 6th straight win as he takes on Askar Ragimov (2-1, 1) in what looks to be a clear mismatch. Aghayev , who was once 14-1, stepped up in 2016 but after suffering 4 straight losses in Russia appears to have moved back to fighting limited foes in Azerbaijan as his career begins to fizzle out. As for Ragimov he's been out of the ring for a year and isn't expected to pose any sort of a test here.
A second bout of some note will see Elvin Akhundzada (4-0, 2) risk his unbeaten record against Shirkhan Mammadov (0-1). Although Akhundzada looks like he might be worth mentioning on paper, he is now 31 and unlikely to be making much of a mark in the sport going forward.
