The busy Japanese action continues over into a new week with Monday boasting not just "Dangan 89" but also televised action courtesy of Fuji TV who will be showing the main event of the show.
The main event will see Keita Obara (9-1, 8) defending his Japanese Light Welterweight title for the second time as he takes on Tetsuya Hasunuma (7-4-3, 3). Obara, a big puncher, will be favoured thought Hasunuma knows that a win will put him on the boxing map.
Prior to the main even their will be 7 other contests. These will kick off with the debut of Banba Kotaro (0-0) who faces an opponent that we've been unable to name and Kenjo Ishii (3-2, 3) in against another man we've been unable to name.
Following the 2 opening fights, which are both scheduled for 4 rounds, we move on to the 6 rounders. The first of the 6 rounders will see Shogo Sumitomo (4-5, 3) fighting against Tatsuya Kaneko (6-9-1) before Takuma Okada (4-7, 2) battles Takushige Sato (4-4-1, 1), with Sato attempting to end a 4 fight losing streak.
The remaining 3 bouts on on the show are all scheduled for 8 rounds. The begin with a bout between Hirotsugu Yamamoto (15-9-2, 2) and Shogo Ishikawa (10-4, 3) in what looks like an interesting contest on paper. In the second of the 8 rounders Ryuichi Funai (19-6, 13) will be fighting Masafumi Otake (14-11-3, 7), this bout doesn't look as good as the first 8 rounder but still seems interestings.
In the final of the 8 rounders Masayuki Ito (12-0-1, 4) will be taking on Kentaro Yamada (8-3-1, 6). Ito's unbeaten run is at risk here but Yamada probably won't be able to connect with his hard shots liek he'd need to to really test Ito.
