May 10th 2014-National Univ. of Technology, Seoul, South Korea Hyun Mi Choi (8-0-1, 2) Vs Kaenpetch Supechamps (6-7-1) We have to admit we love the story of Korean fighter Hyun Mi Choi, the young lady who defected from North Korea to the neighbouring south and has carved out a memorable boxing career. Sometimes though match making has been poor, as seen here against Thailand's limited Kaenpetch Superchamps.

August 30th 2014- Wolsong elementary school, Gyeongju, South Korea Young Kil Bae (19-4-1, 14) Vs Petchwanchai Sor Visetkit (14-7, 6) Earlier this year Young Kil Bae, a fighter also known as Myung Goo Yuh, came out of nowhere to be announced as a challenger for the WBC Minimumweight title. Bae however was injured before he got the chance to step in the ring and fight Wanheng Menayothin. Despite the injury it appears efforts are being made to get Bae Vs Wanheng rescheduled. Given that news we were incredibly happy to come across a fight of Bae's that we didn't have. This one sees the Korean defending his PABA Flyweight title against a Petchwanchai Sor Visetkit. May 10th 2014-National Univ. of Technology, Seoul, South Korea Hee Jun Yuh (11-2, 4) Vs Nongbua Lookpraiaree (8-11-1) A recent search for female world title fights from Korea unearthed this bout PABA female Bantamweight title bout between Korea's very own Hee Jun Yuh and Thailand's Nongbua Lookpraiaree, who will incidentally fight Tomomi Takano a few days after this video has been posted. March 21th 2015-Jeonju South Korea Dan Bi Kim (9-3-2, 2)* Vs Lookkwan Sithpracha (?-?)** Korean fight Dan Bi Kim is one of the most rough and tough female fighters on the circuit. Earlier this year she fought for the WIBF Light Flyweight title against Thai opponent Lookwan Sithpracha. A number of take aways from this video is that Kim has improved, a lot, over the years and that the promoter seems to have booked an arena that was far too big for the fights that were on offer. Notably this fight isn't, at the time of writing, in the boxrec database. *Kim's boxrec record is missing a technical draw to fellow Korean Su Yun Hong ** At the time of writing boxrec list two fighters with the name of the Thai. They have a 7-2 (2) and a 0-2 record. We suspect they need merging and may still be incomplete. June 2nd 2015- Ramintra , Bangkok, Thailand Wanheng Menayothin (37-0, 12) Vs Jerry Tomogdan (17-5-3, 9) On Tuesday Thai fans saw WBC Minimumweight world champion Wanheng Menayothin attempt to continue his unbeaten run as he took on Filipino challenger Jerry Tomogdan. The bout was widely considered a mismatch though the the idea of the bout was to keep Wanheng busy before a potential mandatory title fight later in the year. (Video courtesy of tko.in.th) October 6th 2007- Elorde Sports Center, Paranaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines Juan Martin Elorde (3-0, 1) Vs Ronnel Esparas (0-0) The "Elorde" name is one of the most sacred in Filipino boxing. It's of course the surname of the great Gabriel "Flash" Elorde and is now a name kept in boxing by Juan Martin and Juan Miguel Elorde. This bout is Juan Martin Elorde's 4th bout as he took on debutant Ronnel Esparas. June 1st 2007- Angono Sports Complex (Angono Municipal Gym), Barangay Mahabang , Angono, Rizal, Philippines Warlito Parrenas (1-1, 1) Vs Eljun Leonardo (2-0) In a few weeks time we will see Filipino fighter Warlito Parrenas fight for the WBO interim Super Flyweight title. For those wanting to see an early fight of Parrenas, this bout was his third and saw him take on Eljun Leonardo, who entered the bout as an unbeaten prospect. *Note-Boxrec list Leonardo's first name as "Eljune" May 30th- Outdoor Music Hall, Dongducheon, South Korea Woo Min Kim (1-0) Vs Won Suk Lee (0-0-1) At the end of May we saw Korean fighter Won Suk Lee end a 4 and a half year break from the ring to take on the unbeaten Woo Min Kim in a small out door event. (Video courtesy of Imigyeong) June 2nd 2015- Ramintra , Bangkok, Thailand Noknoi Sitthiprasert (54-4, 31)* Vs Petchchumpol Sor Visetkit (5-5, 3) Thailand's Noknoi Sitthiprasert is, we believe, the holder of the longest active winning streak in the sport. He put his 50+ fight streak on the line this past Tuesday when he took on the very limited Petchchumpol Sor Visetkit. *Boxrec don't have a record of Noknoi's third bout with Donny Mabao from earlier in 2015. (Video courtesy of tko.in.th) June 2nd 2015- Ramintra , Bangkok, Thailand Chanachai CP Freshmart (3-0, 2) Vs Lester Abutan (7-2-3, 4) Earlier this year Thailand's promising Chanachai CP Freshmart caught our eye as he took on experienced Filipino Wilber Andogan. Today we saw him take another Filipino, Lester Abutan, and again we were really impressed by the exciting Thai who showed plenty of traits that we really like to see in a young fighter.
