Today they fought for the second time with Morales trying to avenge his sole defeat and Kongfah looking to prove that he didn't need to go low to beat the Indonesian fighter. For those interested the first fight between these two can be seen here. (Video courtesy of tko.in.th)

May 16th 2015- Auditorio Miguel Barragan, San Luis Potosi, San Luis Potosí, Mexico Eden Sonsona (33-6-2, 11) Vs Adrian Estrella (22-0, 20) We often see Filipino fighters travelling to Mexico to face world ranked foes in what are widely viewed as mismatches. Despite the bouts looking one sided on paper it's rare to see a Filipino turn just for the pay day and usually they fight to win, as seen recently when Eden Sonsona took on the dangerous Adrian Estrella. November 2nd 2014- Sangyo Koryu Center, Akashi, Hyogo, Japan Kazuma Yokoya (0-0) Vs Fahpetch Sor Praithong (0-0) Last year we saw the professional debut teenager Kazuma Yokoya. Prior to his debut we had heard rave reviews about him and we were looking forward to seeing how he progressed. Sadly however he seems to have vanished without trace following this bout with Fahpetch Sor Praithong. (Video courtesy of Maeda Taro) July 9th 2011-Wando Farmers and Fisherman Sports and Culture Center, Jeollanam-do, South Korea Ploynapa Sakrungrueng (1-0) Vs Yeon-Hee Kim (0-0) We don't have many female fights on here, and generally we don't have too many reasons to add them. Thankfully however he did recently have a reason to hunt down some footage of Ploynapa Sakrungrueng following the announcement she was set to get a world title bout. Sadly the only good quality footage of the Thai boxing was this bout with the debuting Yeon-Hee Kim from almost 4 years ago. May 15th 2015- Wat Punoi, Ban Mi, Thailand Petch Kokietgym (19-1, 3) Vs Daiboy Sajiro (3-7-2) II Promising but light punching Thai Petch Kokietgym was back in the ring recently when he took on limited visitor Daiboy Sajiro. The bout was a farce on paper though it was Petch's first bout in in 19 months. (Video courtesy of TKO.in.th) May 15th 2015- Thailand Petchbarngborn Kokietgym (31-7-1, 14) Vs Tommy Seran (24-4, 15) World ranked Thail Petchbarngborn Kokietgym may be angling for a title fight later this year but before then came an interesting match up with Indonesian Tommy Seran. Seran entered the ring with less than stellar recent form but knew that a win would boost his hopes of a world title fighter in the year. (Video courtesy of tko.in.th) May 15th 2015- Thailand Petchchorhae Kokietgym (11-0, 7) Vs Domi Neneokeba (11-23-1, 7) Thailand has an active boxing scene and a number of prospects, such as Petchchorhae Kokietgym. Unfortunately most prospects go through the same journeymen as they come up through the ranks and one of those journeyman is the wild haired Indonesian Domi Nenokeba. Although not the greatest fighter Nenokeba has been in with a who's who of Thai boxing and was recent in there with Petchchorhae in what always appeared to be a mismatch. (Video courtesy of tko.in.th) March 16th 2014- International Conference Hall, Nagoya, Aichi, Japan Kosei Tanaka (1-0) Vs Ronelle Ferreras (13-6-2, 5) In 2013 we saw the professional debut of Japanese sensation Kosei Tanaka, who easily over-came Oscar Raknafa. In his second bout as a professional Tanaka took on Filipino Ronelle Ferreras. In the past we'd only had a fan-cam version of this fight though we've recently stumbled on CBC television broadcast of the fight. This broadcast version doesn't feature the full fight, though is a much higher quality than the other verion. For those interested in the fan cam version that's available here. September 1st 2013- TVRI Studio, Jakarta, Indonesia Boy Tanto (6-14, 1)* Vs Jerry Tomogdan (11-4-2, 7) Indonesian fans back in 2013 would almost certainly have not expected to see a future world title challenger in action but, amazingly, that's exactly what they saw as Filipino youngster Jerry Tomogdan took on local hero Boy Tanto. Toogdan, who is now set to fight Wanheng Menayothin, was certainly not expected to move to world level as quickly as he has though following Young Kil Bae's injury he's managed to get his opportunity. Note-TVRI's on screen graphic suggests Boy Tanto's record was 26-3-2 coming into this bout VERY different from the record shown on boxrec. May 12th 2015-Thailand Kompayak Porpramook (50-5, 35) Vs Unknown (?-?) It's been a while since we've seen Kompayak Porpramook in the ring though he recently made a ring return fighting as Kompayak Banchamek. Wee're unsure who his opponent was here but the former champion was fighting for the first time since he lost to Koki Eto in a 2013 FOTY contender. (Video courtesy of tko.in.th) |
