April 8th 2011-World Memorial Hall, Kobe, Hyogo, Japan Toshiaki Nishioka (37-4-3, 23) Vs Mauricio Javier Munoz (21-2, 9) In 2011 Japanese fans got their final chance to see Toshiaki Nishioka [西岡 利晃] fighting in his homeland as he took on Argentinian challenger Mauricio Javier Munoz. After this bout Nishioka, the then WBC Super Bantamweight champion, fought back to back bouts in the US before retiring in late 2012. April 24th 1999-Kakogawa, Hyogo, Japan Toshiaki Nishioka (16-2-1, 9) vs Shigeru Nakazato (16-2, 11) In late 1998 Toshiaki Nishioka [西岡 利晃] claimed the Japanese Bantamweight title, stopping Junichi Watanabe in 2 rounds. In his first defense of that title Nishioka took on Shigeru Nakazato [仲里繁] (Note this is an abridged version of the fight and not the full contest) April 29th 2005-Palais des Sports, Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France Toshiaki Nishioka (24-4-3, 14) vs Mustapha Abahraouhi (9-3, 3) Japan's talented Toshiaki Nishioka [西岡 利晃] fought numerous bouts outside of Japan, one of those took place in France and saw the talented "Speed King" battle Mustapha Abahraouhi, a very over-matched French local. December 29th 1998-Central Gym, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Toshiaki Nishioka (15-2-1, 8) Vs Junichi Watanabe (16-1, 13) Japan's brilliant Toshiaki Nishioka [西岡 利晃] is well known for his fights at world level. Prior to this contests he won a national title with his first title bout coming against Junichi Watanabe [渡辺純一]e. For fans who haven't seen this one it is worth enjoying June 29th 1998-Osaka, Osaka, Japan Toshiaki Nishioka (13-2-1, 6) vs Jack Siahaya (1-4, 1) In his later years Japan's Toshiaki Nishioka [西岡 利晃] went on to become a genuinely top tier Super Bantamweight. This bout however comes from before he won his first title and sees him going up against Indonesia's Jack Siahaya. This is the first fight between the two men. September 15th 2008-Pacifico, Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan Toshiaki Nishioka (31-4-3, 19) vs Napapol Sor Rungvisai (46-2-1, 38) Japanese fighters have, regularly, stayed at home. One who has travelled in recent years, and actually won a title on the road and defended it away from home, is the now retired Toshiaki Nishioka [西岡 利晃] who can be seen here facing Thailand's Napapol Sor Rungvisai for the WBC "interim" Bantamweight title. April 19th 2008-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Toshiaki Nishioka (30-4-3, 18) Vs Jesus Garcia (12-8-2, 4) Before Takashi Miura began rampaging through Mexican fights Japan had another "Mexi-killer", Toshiaka Nishioka. Nishioka went unbeaten against Mexican opponents in his 47 fight career that saw him score notable victories, on the road, against Jhonny Gonzalez and Rafael Marquez as well as a notable win over Genaro Garcia.
