April 1st 2023 - EDION Arena Osaka, Osaka Yuto Nakamura (11-7-2, 8) vs Ryo Miyazaki (26-4-3, 16) In 2023 Japanese fight fans saw Yuto Nakamura [中村祐斗] take on former WBA Minimumweight world champion Ryo Miyazaki [宮崎亮] at the EDION Arena Osaka, in what was Miyazaki's 5th bout of his comeback, which began in 2021.

Here we see an early career bout of Miyazaki's again fellow Japanese fighter Takuya Yamada [山田卓哉]. October 21st 2010-Bunka Hall, Kobe, Hyogo, Japan Ryo Miyazaki (11-0-3, 6) Vs Junichi Ebisuoka (21-12-3, 9) After winning the OPBF Light Flyweight title in the summer of 2010 Ryo Miyazaki [宮崎亮] didn't take long before returning to the ring to defend the belt, against the experienced Junichi Ebisuoka [戎岡淳一]. October 12th 2009-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Ryo Miyazaki (9-0-2, 5) Vs Munetsugu Kayo (17-2-3, 9) Japanese warrior Ryo Miyazaki [宮崎亮] first became a world champion at the end of 2012, before that he had claimed the Japanese and OPBF titles. In his first title fight as a professional he faced the often over-looked Munetsugu Kayo [嘉陽宗嗣], who had held the Japanese title for more than 2 years coming into this bout, and had also been an OPBF title holder. June 14th 2010-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Ryo Miyazaki (10-0-3, 5) Vs Katsuhiko Iezumi (28-7-3, 19) Today Ryo Miyazaki [宮崎亮] is eyeing up a chance to become a 2-weight world champion. Prior to winning his first world title, way back in 2012, he went through the ranks claiming Japanese OPBF title's. On his way up he took on Katsuhiko Iezumi [家住勝彦] a fearsome and experienced fighter who had high hopes for his own career. December 31st 2012-Bodymaker Colosseum, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Ryo Miyazaki (17-0-3, 10) Vs Pornsawan Porpramook (27-4-1, 17) One of the forgotten modern classics was the all out war for the WBA Minimumweight title between Ryo Miyazaki [宮崎 亮] and Pornsawan Porpramook [พรสวรรค์ ป.ประมุข] from the very end of 2012. The bout may not have been the very best bout to feature either man, but it was a brilliant contest all the same that was competitive and exciting. June 20th 2012-Bodymaker Colosseum, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Ryo Miyazaki (16-0-3, 10) Vs Michael Landero (16-6-4, 5) The Ioka gym has got one star, Kazuto Ioka, it also has a lot of strong supporting fighters including Kazuto's close friend Ryo Miyazaki [宮崎 亮] who can be seen here fighting tough Filipino Michael Landero in an OPBF title fight. December 31st 2015-EDION Arena Osaka, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Ryo Miyazaki (23-1-3, 14) Vs Thongchai Chaiyonggym (0-1) This past year ended in a frantic amount of big fights, including 5 world title bouts on the final day of the year. One bout that did get widely over-looked however was that of former world champion Ryo Miyazaki, who fought in a stay busy contest against Thailand's Thongchai Chaiyonggym. (Video courtesy of yossy112311) December 31st 2014- Bodymaker Colosseum, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Ryo Miyazaki (21-1-3, 12) Vs Kajonsak Nattapolgym (0-0) On December 31st 2013 we saw Ryo Miyazaki being shocked by Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr. It was a huge upset loss for the Japanese fight and one that really left us all with questions about his future. Exactly a year later Miyazaki was in the ring against an unknown Thai, this time Kajonsak Nattapolgym and this time Miyazaki knew he couldn't possibly afford a loss. |
