December 17th 2016-ZheJiang University Stadium (Zi Jin gang Campus), Hangzhou, China Qiu Xiao Jun (21-3, 10) Vs Nehomar Cermeno (25-5-1-1, 15) II This past weekend saw the second bout between Qiu Xiao Jun [裘晓君] and Nehomar Cermeno, with Jun looking to avenege his loss to Cermeno from earlier in the year. September 30th 2016-Wenzhou, China Qiu Xiao Jun (20-3, 9) Vs Robert Udtohan (23-1-3, 15) Earlier today Chinese fans saw Qiu Xiao Jun [裘小君] take on Robert Udtohan in what was Jun's first bout since losing in a WBA Super Bantamweight title bout. September 8th 2011- Yunhe Middle School Gymnasium, Pizhou, China Qiu Xiao Jun (2-0) vs Adeli Asa (0-0) Earlier today we stumbled upon some old Chinese fights, one of the most notable was this early career bout by Qiu Xiao Jun [裘晓君] who can be seen facing off against Adeli Asa. June 24h 2016-Capital Gym, Beijing, China Qiu Xiao Jun (20-2, 8) vs Nehomar Cermeno (23-5-1-1, 13) Earlier this month Chinese fighter Qiu Xiao Jun [裘晓君] took on Nehomar Cermeno as he attempted to become just the second ever Chinese man to become a world champion. February 12th 2016-Olympic Park Arena Lu Zhou, China Qiu Xiao Jun (19-2, 9) Vs Raymond Commey (13-2, 7) Whilst Zou Shiming may be the most well known Chinese fighter in the West he doesn't appear to be the star that Bob Arum hoped he'd be. The one man who does look like he has the potential be a real star for China is Qiu Xiao Jun [裘晓君] who recently faced off against Ghana's Raymond Commey. November 7th 2015- Salle des Étoiles, Monte Carlo, Monaco Qiu Xiao Jun (18-2, 8) Vs Amor Belahdj Ali (14-3-1, 2) Last year we saw China's Qiu Xiao Jun [裘晓君] make his European debut as he took on Frenchman Amor Belahdj Ali in Monaco. November 16th 2013-Yu Hang Gymnasium, Hangzhou, China Qiu Xiao Jun (10-2, 3) Vs Lizandro De Los Santos (22-10, 9) China's Qiu Xiao Jun is one of the very few Chinese fighters who has managed to catch our eye since we began this site. We have to admit however that we took out time to begin really following him and missed out on a number of his earlier bouts, including this one against Mexico's Lizandro De Los Santos, who would later go on to fight Min Wook Kim. September 11th- Yu Hang Gymnasium, Hangzhou, China Qiu Xiao Jun (17-2, 7) Vs Diarh Gabutan (19-4-3, 10) The Chinese boxing scene has had a disappointing year with a number of fighters, including Olympic hero Zou Shiming, come up short in notable bouts. Despite those set backs there are still some hopes in China including Super Bantamweight contender Qiu Xiao Jun. The promising Jun was recently in action when he took on Filipino Diarh Gabutan in a defense of the WBC Silver Super Bantamweight title. *Note-Boxrec have re-ordered Jun's name since this fight took place and now list him as Jun Qiu Xiao February 22nd 2015-Wenshan, China Qiu Xiao Jun (15-2, 6) Vs Silvester Lopez (23-9-2, 17) A lot of Western fans have followed the rise of the Macau boxing scene. It's worth noting however that the Chinese boxing scene extends well beyond the Macau scene and among those who have lead that movement are Super Bantamweight hopeful Qiu Xiao Jun. In Jun's most notable bout to date he battled former world title challenger Silvester Lopez of the Philippines in what looked like a very interesting match up. |
