November 7th 2019-Super Arena, Saitama, Saitama, Japan Naoya Inoue (18-0, 16) Vs Nonito Donaire (40-5, 26) We got the WBSS Bantamweight final almost a year ago today, and it saw Japanese star Naoya Inoue [井上 尚弥] take on legendary Filipino Nonito Donaire. The bout was for the IBF, WBA "super" and Ring Magazine titles, and the Muhammad Ali trophy and turned out to be one of the very best bouts of 2019. A truly brilliant fight with everything. It had boxing, drama, controversy and everything we could ever wish to see in a bout. May 18th 2019-The SSE Hydro, Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom Naoya Inoue (17-0, 15) Vs Emmanuel Rodriguez (19-0, 12) Back in May 2019 we saw Naoya Inoue [井上 尚弥] clash with Emmanuel Rodriguez in a WBSS semi-final bout. Entering the bout Inoue was the WBA "regular" Bantamweight champion whilst Rodriguez held the IBF title. The bout was also for the Ring Magazine Bantamweight title and a place in the WBSS final. October 7th 2018-Arena, Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan Naoya Inoue (16-0, 14) vs Juan Carlos Payano (20-1, 9) Way back in October 2018 we saw WBA "regular" Bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue [井上 尚弥] begin his WBSS campaign, as he took on former WBA "Super" champion Juan Carlos Payano in Yokohama. October 2nd 2012-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Naoya Inoue (0-0) vs Crison Omayao (16-4-1, 4) Back in 2012 Japanese youngster Naoya Inoue [井上尚弥] created history, as he became the first Japanese teenager to take part in an A class debut. The then 19 year old took on OPBF rankled Filipino Crison Omayao, who had gone 12 rounds with Wanheng Menayothin 11 months earlier and was the then Filipino GAB champion. This was expected to be an easy 19th win for Inoue, however Donaire has been an easy out for anyone, and he entered this bout looking for one more huge performance, in a bout for the IBF, WBA "super" and Ring Magazine titles, and the Muhammad Ali trophy.
