July 19th-1999- Japan Akihiko Nago (14-0, 10) Vs Jun Magsipoc (15-7-3, 10) Every so often we find a bout that doesn't get listed on Boxrec. One such bout is this one, which claims to be a bout between Akihiko Nago, who was on the verge of a world title fight, and Filipino Jun Magsipoc. Strangely we could only find this bout listed on one site, though with the video right here, it's clearly taken place. March 3rd 2000-Tokyo, Japan Akihiko Nago (14-1, 10) vs Felix Marfa (21-20-3, 3) Following a loss in a world title bout to Hideki Todaka in 1999 Akihiko Nago [名護明彦] would return to the ring the following year in a confidence building match up against Filipino Felix Marfa. October 21st 1996-Tokyo, Japan Akihiko Nago (5-0, 3) vs Ryo Yoneyama (2-2, 1) Unbeaten hopeful Akihiko Nago might never have won a world title, but their was always big hopes on his shoulders and he did look like a really good prospect early on, and in fairness he was a top contender several years. Here we see him in an early bout against against Ryo Yoneyama. May 10th 2011-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Akihiko Nago (29-7-1, 14) vs Mitsuru Furuya (8-8, 2) In 2011 Japanese fight fans saw Akihiko Nago battle against Mitsuru Furuya. October 25th 1998-Ginowan, Okinawa, Japan Keiji Yamaguchi (26-3, 10) vs Akihiko Nago (12-0, 9) In 2008 the former WBA Super Flyweight champion Keiji Yamaguchi [山口圭司] took on rising puncher Akihiko Nago [名護明彦], in a bout for Nago's Japanese Super Flyweight title. November 7th 1999-Kokugikan, Tokyo, Japan Hideki Todaka (15-2-1, 7) vs Akihiko Nago (14-0, 10) In late 1999 Japanese puncher Akihiko Nago [名護明彦] challenged compatriot, and the then WBA Super Flyweight champion, Hideki Todaka [戸高秀樹]. The bout would be Todaka's first defense of the title that he had won earlier in 1999. March 20th 2007-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Akihiko Nago (26-6-1, 14) vs Hidenobu Honda (28-4, 14) In 2007 former world title challengers Akihiko Nago [名護明彦] and Hidenobu Honda [本田秀伸] faced off in what looked a really good bout on paper and was ultra-competitive in the ring. July 20th 1998-Tokyo, Japan Akihiko Nago (11-0, 9) vs Hiroaki Murakoshi (11-4, 9) In July 1998 Akihiko Nago [名護明彦] made his first defense of the Japanese Super Flyweight title, as he took on fellow puncher Hiroaki Murakoshi [村越裕昭]. March 9th 1998-Tokyo, Japan Akihiko Nago (10-0, 8) vs Yoshiaki Matsukura (16-2-1, 14) In March 1998 Japanese fans saw the fast rising Akihiko Nago [名護明彦] challenge Japanese Super Flyweight champion Yoshiaki Matsukura [松倉義明], who was defending the title he had won in tragic circumstances against Akira Taiga the previous year.
