Just 3 months after this bout Niida got a crack at a world title. The two men would rematch almost a year later, though Arumbulet was title-less after failing to make weight for the bout at the weigh in. One of his most interesting rivalries was with Venezuelan fighter Noel Arambulet, this is their first of two bouts.
