Just 2 months prior to that bout Japanese fans saw Ishimoto in domestic action as he took on Yoshinori Uchida at the Korakuen Hall. This bout came 12 months after Ishimoto had failed in a national title fight against Masaaki Serie and it seemed to show that he was improving as a fighter with more belief in his power. We won't ruin the result here but it was an impressive performance from Ishimoto against a tough but limited domestic fighter. |
