August 8th 1989-Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand Thanomsak Sithbaobay (25-1, 13) vs Torsak Pongsupa (7-0, 7) In 1989 Thai fight fans saw the once beaten Thanomsak Sithbaobay take on the unbeaten Torsak Pongsupa November 5th 1993-Ariake Colosseum, Tokyo, Japan Katsuya Onizuka (22-0, 17) vs Thanomsak Sithbaobay (44-3, 25) II In April 1992 Japan's popular Katsuya Onizuka claimed the WBA Super Flyweight title, with a win over Thanomsak Sithbaobay. The two would rematch in late 1993, in Onizuka's 4th defense of the title. November 29th 1999-Rajadamnern Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand Luisito Espinosa (25-5, 13) vs Thanomsak Sithbaobay (31-1, 16) Filipino fighter Luisito Espinosa was one of the few international fighters to manage to make a name for himself in Thailand, where he won three times. The most famous of those wins was the peculiar knockout against Khaokor Galaxy, which saw him claim the WBA Bantamweight title, which he defended 13 months later against Thanomsak Sithbaobay [ถนอมศักดิ์ ศิษย์โบ๊เบ๊], in what was the Filipino's final bout in Thailand. |
