Currently ranked #8 by the IBF at Light Welterweight Patomsuk Pathompothong is possibly the most obscure top 10 ranked fighter above Featherweight thought the Thai is a capable, though unspectacular fighter. At the moment Japan's Takayuki Hosokawa is in the top 15 IBF ranked fighters at Light Middleweight and, like Patomsuk, he's a solid but unspectacular fighter. In late 2013 the men faced off in a catchweight bout at Welterweight in an interesting contest held in Hosokawa's home city of Osaka. It was a fight between a back foot boxer and an intense pressure fighter and stylistically it was enjoyable. We won't ruin much of the details regarding the fight though we suggest that one judge, who had the bout a near shut out, needs to rewatch the contest and ask himself what he was watching. Interestingly Hosokawa has fought just once since this bout, defeating Tadashi Yuba for the Japanese Light Middleweight title, whilst the Thai has dropped back to his natural weight and recorded 5 straight victories. Equally as notable is the fact both men appear to be eyeing up possible world title bouts for 2015! (Video courtesy of yasu boxer)
