You often only find out how good a fighter is when they step up and begin to face "known fighters". Sadly in the case of Takahiro Shigee we found out how good was in a rather painful fashion as he stepped up to face the very talented Rodrigo Guerrero and was slowly ground down by the former world champion from Mexico. Shigee went into this bout as an unbeaten fighter but a clear under-dog. He had never fought anyone like Guerrero before and it showed despite some, albeit relatively few, moments of success. For Shigee this was a painful lesson and a harsh way to learn about neglecting your defences though on the flipside it's shown some major things that he can work on and hopefully he'll come back to make those improvements, after all losing to Rodrigo Guerrero is nothing shameful and he is a very good fighter himself.
