September 4th 2016-Sky Arena, Zama, Kanagawa, Japan Naoya Inoue (10-0, 8) Vs Petchbarngborn Kokietgym (38-7-1, 18) Earlier today fans in Japan and Thailand had the chance to see WBO Super Flyweight champion Naoya Inoue [井上 尚弥] face off against Petchbarngborn Kokietgym [เพชรบางบอน ก่อเกียรติยิม]. For those curious this is the Thai broadcast version, we will have the Japanese version up in the near future.

July 3rd 2016-Japan Naoya Inoue (10-0, 8) Vs Genesis Servania (27-0, 11) Recently in Japan some fans at a special event had the chance to see some exhibitions. One of those saw WBO Super Flyweight champion Naoya Inoue [井上 尚弥] share the ring with world ranked Super Bantamweight Genesis Servania. May 8th 2016-Ariake Colosseum Tokyo, Japan Naoya Inoue (9-0, 8) vs David Carmona (20-2-5, 8) Over the weekend Japanese fans had the chance to see the very highly regarded "Monster" Naoya Inoue [井上 尚弥] in action, as he took on mandatory challenger David Carmona. December 29th 2015-Ariake Colosseum Tokyo, Japan Naoya Inoue (8-0, 7) Vs Warlito Parrenas (24-6-1, 21) In December 2014 Naoya Inoue made a mark on the boxing world by destroying Omar Andres Narvaez. It took him almost a year to return to the ring, and when he did he faced mandatory challenger Warlito Parrenas, a heavy handed and confident Filipino fighter. The question going in, was how would Inoue look after almsot a year of inactivity. October 4th 2011- Baku, Azerbaijan Naoya Inoue (N/a) Vs Yosvany Veitia (N/a) We all know that Cuban amateur boxers are sensational and one of the best out there in recent years was Yosvany Veitia. Unfortunately for Japanese wunderkind Naoya Inoue he would twice bump into Veitia in major competitions including the 2011 World Amateur Championships in Baku. In their first meeting it was a white wash in favour of the Cuban the second time around however was much, much more competitive as Inoue showed clear signs of improvement. (Video courtesy of AIBABoxing) April 20th 2012- Astana, Kazakhstan Naoya Inoue (N/a) Vs Birzhan Zhakipov (N/a) At the end of 2014 we saw Naoya Inoue becoming "the name" in Japan. Just over 2 years earlier the Japanese fighter had failed to make it to the Olympics unfortunately coming up short in the final of the 2012 Asian Qualifying tournament. The Japanese fighter, who isn't used to losing, took on Kazakhstan's Birzhan Zhakipov in the final of the qualifying event in Zhakipov's native home country and it's fair to say this was a lot more competitive than some may have suspect. After all Zhakipov was a "red hot favourite", a more mature and experienced fighter and the hometown favourite. (Video courtesy of AIBABoxing) April 11th 2012- Astana, Kazakhstan Naoya Inoue (N/a) Vs Asror Vokhidov (N/a) For many fight fans Naoya Inoue has come out of nowhere to become a force on the world stage. What those fans perhaps don't know is that Inoue was actually a much touted amateur and almost reached the 2012 Olympics. This bout, just a day after his 19th birthday, sees Inoue taking on Tajikistan's Asror Vokhidov in the semi-final of the Asian Olympic qualifier. (Video courtesy of AIBABoxing) July 10th 2012- Korakuen Hall Naoya Inoue (N/a) Vs Masayuki Kuroda (21-3-1, 13) Right now it's fair to say that every boxing fan knows that Naoya Inoue is a special fighter. For some his emergence has been eye opening for others however his rise was expected. The youngster was seen as being so special that his pro-test bout saw him fighting against the then Japanese Light Flyweight champion Masayuki Kuroda, and not only did Inoue impress but he already looked ready to fight for titles, in fact many would have favoured the youngster to have beaten Kuroda in an actual fight. As an interesting aside to this "bout" is that Kuroda would fight against Juan Carlos Reveco in a world title fight just 7 months later! (Video courtesy of yu Gdragon) July 7th 2011- Jakarta, Indonesia Naoya Inoue (N/a) Vs Wu Rongguo (N/a) Rising Japanese star Naoya Inoue really has become one of the sports most talked about fighters though hardcore fans knew how good he was well before he destroyed Omar Andres Narvaez. His amateur success on the Japanese domestic scene is legendary whilst internationally he was, again, successful. Part of that international success saw him winning the 2011 President's Cup in Indonesia. On route to that championship win he had to over-come the talented, stubborn and very competitive Wu Rongguo from China. If you're a fan of the "Monster" then this bout will be well worth a watch. (Video courtesy of serishunya) November 20th 2011- Gifu, Japan Naoya Inoue (N/A) Vs Taro Hayashida (N/A) Naoya Inoue is a sensation. It really is that simple. He did however has a nemesis on the Japanese national scene when he was a young amateur making a name for himself. That was Taro Hayashida and the two men met 3 times in around a year. The first of those came at the 2010 Japanese national championships final and was won by Hayashida, the second came in early 2011 and was won by Inoue.
