March 20th 2015-NCO Club, Royal Thai Airforce, Bangkok, Thailand Kongfah Nakornluang (19-0, 11) vs Ricky Morales (4-0-1) WBC Youth silver Super Flyweight champion Kongfah Nakornluang is a fighter who, for the most part, looks very limited, but he is rarely in a dull fight due to his limitations an style. Recently he put his youth title on the line as he took on Indonesian visitor Ricky Morales, himself an unbeaten challenger. Since that bout he he has continued to some reckless abandon for defence though has managed to find himself in some brilliant fights, including this one with Indonesian Rendi Stone for the WBC Youth Super Flyweight title. If you like insane pressure you will love this and you will love Kongfah who must be nightmare for fans of the sweet science. When we saw that fight we though Kongfah may be one of the most limited but fun men in the sport. Since then he has fought 3 times with the most recent of those bouts coming against Vichannoi Chaiyonggym. We won't say this was as good as the Kongfah Vs Den bout but it's certainly not a stinker. (Video comes with a huge thanks to ทีเคโอ มวยโลก) Earlier this year we saw Kongfah Nakornluang compete in one of the FOTY contender when he went and brawled with Den Baansuan Samlansaraburi in a genuinely thrilling 6 round contest. In that bout Kongfah showed little regard for defense and did little more than brawl with his foe in what was a highly exciting brawl that seemed to resemble a street fight more than a boxing contest. Watching that fight alone would have given the impression that Kongfah lacked skills but was going to be a must watch fighter. Just 2 months later we saw Kongfah actually show some skills as he took on Safwan Lombok. The bout may have, eventually, become a toe-to-toe slugfest, but early in the bout we did see some skills from the unbeaten Thai who appears to be one of the sports most exciting and fun to watch fighters. Hopefully he'll show an improved defense and mentality when he steps up in class but at this level we're happy to just watch do his thing. (Video courtesy of ทีเคโอ มวยโลก) One of our favourite fights this year saw the unbeaten Kongfah Nakornluang battle against Den Sithsaithong in an all out war, It seems that whilst that fight was great to watch it worried his team and they decided to give him an easier test in his followup bout as he took on Santos Kwanjaisrikod. Against this level of opponent Kongfah had no problems at all. (Video courtesy of ทีเคโอ มวยโลก) Thailand can give us some of the most bizarre bouts with various issues regard fighters and officials. Sometimes however we get something that is just pure entertainment, a fight that may not look much like the "sweet science" but is just great fun from the first bell to the last. One such fight was the recent one between the unbeaten Kongfah Nakornluang and mystery man Den Baansuan Samlansaraburi. The bout was a fight that featured two defensively flawed and offensively free swinging guys in what was little more than a none-stop tear up. We wouldn't call it a fight of the year contender, due to relative lack of skill of both men, but it is a contender for one of the most fun bouts this year. Just sit back and enjoy two men beating each other up. One thing to note, even the TV producer seems to get crazy at the start of round 3 flashing up graphics for round 2 and 4 before settling on round 3 at last.
