April 7th 2013-Bodymaker Colosseum, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Koki Kameda (29-1, 17) vs Panomroonglek Kaiyanghadaogym (36-1, 19) Japan's Koki Kameda [亀田 興毅] certainly had a memorable career as he became Japan's first 3 weight world champion. Sadly for him his reign at Bantamweight was very forgettabale as almost every bout seemed to be close and tough such as his bout with experienced Thai Panomroonglek Kaiyanghadaogym [พนมรุ้งเล็ก ไก่ย่างห้าดาวยิม].

March 4th 2009- Super Arena, Saitama, Saitama, Japan Koki Kameda (19-0, 12) Delores Osorio (0-5) In his 20th professional bout Japan's Koki Kameda faced the little known Delores Osorio in a stay busy fight as the oldest of the Kameda brothers continued to prepare for a long Flyweight world title bout, which would come 8 months later against compatriot Daisuke Naito. *Note the graphic on screen lists Osorio as being 21-8 (19) coming into this bout. December 20th 2006-Ariake Colosseum, Tokyo, Japan Koki Kameda (12-0, 10) Vs Juan Jose Landaeta (23-4-1, 18) In August 2006 fans saw Koki Kameda claim his first world title as he controversially defeated Juan Jose Landaeta for the WBA Light Flyweight title. Due to the controversy the two men faced each just a few months later in what was an immediate rematch for the title and a chance for Kameda to win over some fans who had turned on him in the wake of the first Landaeta match up. May 23rd 2007-Central Gym, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Koki Kameda (14-0, 10) Vs Irfan Ogah (5-1, 3) The love-him/hate-him Koki Kameda has faced some very good fighters, sadly Indonesian Irfan Ogah was not one of those August 21st 2005-Bunka Gym, Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan Koki Kameda (7-0, 6) Vs Wanmeechok Singwancha (12-2, 7) Japan's Koki Kameda has been one of the modern day stars of Japanese boxing. March 24th 2007-Kokugikan, Tokyo, Japan Koki Kameda (13-0, 10) Vs Everado Morales (29-11-2, 21) Japan's Koki Kameda only had a short reign as the WBA Light Flyweight champion before he added a few pounds and moved back to Flyweight. His first bout following world title reign saw him take on former world title challenger Everado Morales, a limited but heavy handed fighter who had mixed with top fighters, like Omar Andres Narvaez and Pongsaklek Wonjongkam. *Note-The on screen graphic lists Morales with 1 less win than boxrec.com July 28th 2007- Ariake Colosseum, Tokyo, Japan Koki Kameda (15-0, 11) v Cesar Lopez (20-4, 4) In 2006 Koki Kameda claimed his first world, the WBA Light Flyweight title. March 8th 2006- Kokugikan, Tokyo, Japan Koki Kameda (9-0, 8) Vs Carlos Bouchan (16-5, 12) Love him or hate him Koki Kameda was once one of the most recognisable faces in boxing. No only were his world title bouts aired but so to were a number of his other, earlier, bouts. One of which was his 2006 clash with Carlos Bouchan of Mexico. July 23rd 2013- Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan Koki Kameda (30-1, 17) Vs John Mark Apolinario (17-2-3, 4) As a Bantamweight Koki Kameda held the secondary WBA "regular" title and often seemed to struggle with opponents who were naturally bigger than him. He did however manage to record some clear and decisive defenses of the title with one of the clearest being this one against Filipino challenger John Mark Apolinario who looked out of his depth through out the bout. |
