Yang Lian Hui, AKA Ik Yang, has been one of the very few Chinese fighters that has managed to earn admiration from American fans journalists. That's not to say he's China's first international boxing star but many fans who have seen him do admire his style and skill which have been compared favourably to American fighters. Surprisingly however Yang wasn't a product of the Chinese system but instead he was developed in South Korea. It was in South Korea that Yang won his first ever professional boxing title, the South Korean Lightweight title. Yang won that belt in May 2012 when he took on the more experienced Jong Won Won and proved himself as one of the best fighters in South Korea by dominating Won with a stylish and aggressive performance. Of course the Chinese fighter wasn't flawless but he showed the traits that have made him him so popular and have helped him become a staple of Top Rank's Macau shows. Sadly for Korean fans this was the Yang's penultimate fight in Korea as the allure of boxing in the US and now Macau seem to have been too much for him to resist, especially when you consider the fact that the Korean scene is currently crumbling. In regards to the quality of the video, we are sorry it's not in HD, the video was very difficult to hunt down but we felt, even in this quality, that it was worth posting given that Yang now seems to be on the verge of becoming a major star.
