Thailand is certainly going through a lot of changes in it's boxing right now with many of the old guard, such as Denkaosan Kaovichit, looking likely to retire in the coming 12-24 months whilst the new guard arrives on the scene. Arguably the most promising of "the new guard" is Stamp Kiatniwat, fighting as Stamp Kratingdaenggym for this particular bout. Stamp is a much touted teenage who scored the most impressive win of his career so far when he over-came former world title holder Kwanthai Sithmorseng in a recent 12 rounder that really should have put Stamp on to boxing map, despite the fact he is still a very, very young and prodigious talent. Although Stamp didn't dominate the contest he that he's very much a man with the potential to go a very long away in this sport and the desire to prove himself as a talented young fighter. This win, may not earn him a world title fight but certainly shows that his desire is there to become one of the future stars of boxing in Thailand. One thing that is very interesting about this fight is that we are so used to seeing Thai fights fought in the day time under the intense and sunlight that this fight almost looks "wrong" being fought in the night time, a very unique experience for a fight in Thailand.
