When we talk about Chinese fighters we tend to automatically think of Zou Shiming as the figurehead maybe followed by former world champion Xiong Zhao Zhong and rising star Rex Tso. For the hardcore fans out there their is another name worth making a very serious note of, IK Yang, or rather Yang Lian Hui. Yang is a fighter who has got a more fan friendly style than Shiming and a more refined style than Tso, admittedly that's not saying a lot, and has also got a small, but growing, following with Top Rank featuring him on a number of their Macau shows. Whilst Yang is known to the hardcore what few will actually know is that he started his career in South Korea. It was in Korea that he fought his first 7 professional contests and has fought 9 of his 16 professional bouts including this bout with little known Korean Sang-Hyun Shin way back in August 2008. Going in to the bout Shin was 2-4 and very little known, even to Korean fans. Yang on the other hand was 5-0 and viewed as a talented fighter with a lot of potential. This fight saw Yang's potential tested and, as with many fights involving South Koreans, it was actioned packed. We would like to thank Nova Boxing for this bout, their collection of Korean fights really is amazing thought you need to dig deep to find the hidden gems.
