Later this month fans will see Thailand's Rusalee Samor travel to Japan to fight against the highly touted Ryo Matsumoto in a bout for the OPBF Super Flyweight title. For those that haven't yet seen Samor in action it may be worth checking out some of his fights, including this one with Indonesian journeyman Ricky Manufoe. Over the past few years Manufoe has been in with numerous fighters of note in Thailand and, unfortunately, he has often done what he did here and crumbled relatively quickly under pressure. Despite Manufoe being poor it doesn't really take away from the bout showing how Samor fights with a continual forward march, a lot of punches and a lot of pressures. Tools he'll bring to the ring again in his upcoming bout, albeit against a much better foe than Manufoe. Hong Kong's Rex Tso is bound to be in some really brilliant contests before his career is over, heck he's been in some great ones already. He's not only exciting but also popular and can draw solid crowds as part of the growing Macau scene. So far his career has been exciting and relatively easy going however he has been given 2 serious tests with one of those seeing him score a very fortunate victory against Thailand's Rusalee Samor. Samor, a Thai fighter from the same stable as Amnat Ruenroeng, gave Tso all he could handle and more in a fight that showed up a lot of Tso's limitations. Unfortunately it also showed up the lengths judges go to keep in favour of the promoter with one judge, Salven Lagumbay, only giving Samor a round. (Video courtesy of DefPromotionsHK) For various reasons we can be slow to get some footage however where we can we will upload as many fights as we can as soon as we can. We say that because this fight, between world ranked Thai tough guy Rusalee Samor and tough Filipino journeyman Fernando Ocon, took place about a month ago however it's still worth a watch with Ocon attempting to prove he was more than a hand picked loser for Samor who was trying to prove that he deserved his IBF world ranking. We won't too much about the fight but it's the sort of action that proves records are misleading and that fights can't always be predicted by the records of the men involved and that the styles fighters have can often make for a really engaging contest from the off if they are matched well.
