July 16th 2012-Winghat, Kasukabe, Saitama, Japan Takashi Uchiyama (18-0, 15) Vs Michael Farenas (34-3-3, 26) Japan's Takashi Uchiyama may be the Super Featherweight kingpin but there is a mark against his name, that came against Filipino tough Michael Farenas back in 2012. For those who missed that one we've managed to come across the full fight video here. Note- We know that this video has been made unavailable in more than 40 countries. We're sorry for any inconvenience with fans unable to watch the bout. We decided however that it was best that not everyone missed out, and we also know there are ways to work around the regional block on the viewers side. When we talk about fun but limited fighters we automatically think of the highly entertaining Filipino slugger Michael Farenas, a man who recently proved his ability in the US when he took the unbeaten record of the highly touted Mark Davis and easily defeated the American as he claimed a high IBF ranking. Prior to this bout Farenas was known for two other contests. One of those was his technical draw with Takashi Uchiyama whilst the other was his entertaining but clear loss to Yuriorkis Gamboa. Thankfully this win over Davis should move Farenas to within a fight or two of another world title bout. Whilst Davis has been proven to be worse than his record indicated this was still a great win for Farenas who is really making a name for himself as a headache for anyone at 130lbs. |
