March 4th 1972-Nihon University Auditorium, Tokyo, Japan Masao Oba (31-2-1, 13) vs Susumu Hanagata (34-10-8, 4) II In In 1968 a then 18 year old Masao Oba [大場 政夫] suffered a decision loss to Susumu Hanagata [花形進]. In 1972 the two men met in a rematch for Oba's WBA Flyweight title. April 1st 1971-Nihon University Auditorium, Tokyo, Japan Masao Oba (27-2-1, 12) vs Betulio Gonzalez (24-2-1, 13) In 1970 Masao Oba [大場 政夫] claimed the WBA Flyweight title, the following year he made his first defense, taking on Betulio Gonzalez. January 2nd 1973-Nihon University Auditorium, Tokyo, Japan Masao Oba (34-2-1, 15) vs Chartchai Chionoi (57-14-3, 35) In 1973 we saw Japanese youngster Masao Oba [大場 政夫] fought for the final time before his life was unfortunately taken in an automobile accident. In his final fight he took on multi-time world champion Chartchai Chionoi [ชาติชาย เชี่ยวน้อย] in a bout for the WBA Flyweight title. |
