August 3rd 1983-Bangkok, Thailand Khaosai Galaxy (18-1, 17) vs Chan Young Park (14-2-2, 3) In 1983 a then rising Khaosai Galaxy [เขาทราย แกแล็คซี่] took on Korean Chan Young Park, himself a future world champion. April 7th 1991-Outdoor Stadium, Samut Songkhram, Thailand Khaosai Galaxy (44-1, 39) vs Je Suk Park (14-1, 5) Thai Super Flyweight great Khaosai Galaxy [เขาทราย แกแล็คซี่] ended his career in early 1992. In one of his final bouts he took on Korean Je Suk Park. Incidentally this would be Park's final bout. March 29th 1990-Rajadamnern Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand Khaosai Galaxy (40-1, 35) vs Ari Blanca (31-5-3, 13) Not many fighters through history managed to give Khaosai Galaxy [เขาทราย แกแล็คซี่] many questions to answer, though it's fair to say that Ari Blanca, a Filipino slugger who went to Thailand with the intentions of ending the great run of the Thai legend, did manage to ask Galaxy some serious questions at times. March 8th 1989-Bunka Gym, Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan Khaosai Galaxy (37-1, 33) vs Kenji Matsumura (9-2-1, 5) In April 1989 Khaosai Galaxy [เขาทราย แกแล็คซี่] took on Kenji Matsumura [松村謙二], in what was the first of two bouts between the tough Japanese warrior and the Thai legend. January 15th 1989-Crocodile Farm, Samut Prakan, Thailand Khaosai Galaxy (36-1, 32) vs Tae-Il Chang (26-3-1, 11) In 1989 Thailand's excellent Khaosai Galaxy [เขาทราย แกแล็คซี่] took on former IBF Super Flyweight champion Tae Il Chang [장태일], in what would be Chang's final bout as a professional boxer. October 9th 1988-Sheraton Walker Hill Hotel, Seoul, South Korea Khaosai Galaxy (35-1, 31) vs Chang-Ho Choi (15-3, 12) Thailand's Khaosai Galaxy [เขาทราย แกแล็คซี่] fought 4 times in 1988, the final of those bouts saw him facing off against Chang Ho Choi [최창호], a former IBF Flyweight champion. May 9th 1988-Hua Mark Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand Khaosai Galaxy (33-1, 29) vs Kap Sup Song (17-6-3, 4) In 1988 Thailand's Khaosai Galaxy [เขาทราย แกแล็คซี่] had a busy year with 4 bouts, including a non-title bout against Kap Sup Song, a former Korean Bantamweight champion. January 26th 1988-Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand Khaosai Galaxy (32-1, 29) vs Kongtoranee Payakaroon (12-1, 9) In 1988 Thai fans saw local fighters clash as WBA Super Flyweight champion Khaosai Galaxy [เขาทราย แกแล็คซี่] battled against Kongtoranee Payakaroon [ก้องธรณี พยัคฆ์อรุณ] February 28th 1987-Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, Indonesia Khaosai Galaxy (29-1, 25) vs Elly Pical (14-2, 10) In 1987 WBA Super Flyweight champion Khaosai Galaxy [เขาทราย แกแล็คซี่] travelled to Indonesia to face IBF champion Elly Pical. The bout wasn't a unification bout, with the IBF not having their title on the line, but did mean a lot in the division given that two champions were facing off. |
