Just 13 months later they would meet again, for then then vacant title. February 24th 1998-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Keitaro Hoshino (15-6, 4) vs Makoto Suzuki (7-3-2, 3) In early 1998 the then Japanese Minimumweight champion Keitaro Hishino [星野敬太郎] took on Makoto Suzuki [鈴木誠]. April 16th 2001-Pacifico, Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan Chana Porpaoin (43-1-2, 17) v Keitaro Hoshino (21-6, 5) In 2001 Thailand's Chana Porpaoin [ชนะ ป.เปาอินทร์] travelled to Japan to face Keitaro Hoshino [星野敬太郎]. Porpaoin was looking to become a 2-time world champion whilst Hoshino was looking to retain the WBA Minimumweight title. December 20th 2002-Osaka-Jo Hall, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Keitaro Hoshino (23-8, 6) Vs Noel Arambulet (18-2-1, 10) II In 2002 Japanese fans saw Keitaro Hoshino [星野敬太郎] twice face off against Noel Arambulet. Here is the second of those bouts, and it saw Hoshino attempt to avenge his loss and reclaim the WBA Minimumweight crown. June 23rd 2003-Arena, Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan Keitaro Hoshino (23-9, 6) Vs Jose Antonio Aguirre (29-1-1, 18) In the early part of the millennium Japan's Keitaro Hoshino [星野敬太郎] twice won the WBA Minimumweight title. In 2003 he attempted to add become a 3-time champion and fought for the WBC title, taking on talented Mexican Jose Antonio Aguirre. |
