December 22nd 2022-Ota-City General Gymnasium, Tokyo Kazuto Ioka (29-2, 15) vs Joshua Franco (18-1-2-1, 8) I In the final major fight of 2022 we saw a WBA/WBO Super Flyweight world title unification bout, as Japanese star Kazuto Ioka [井岡一翔] put his WBO title on the line against WBA king pin Joshua Franco. Interestingly this was the final bout that Ioka had on TV station TBS, who had essentially covered his entire career. These two would clash again the following summer in a much anticipated rematch.

December 31st 2020-Ota-City General Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan Kazuto Ioka (25-2, 14) vs Kosei Tanaka (15-0, 9) Earlier today we saw WBO Super Flyweight champion Kazuto Ioka [井岡一翔] look to show his class as he took on unbeaten challenger Kosei Tanaka [田中恒成] in the final world title bout of 2020.

Kazuto Ioka (18-1, 10) Vs Juan Carlos Reveco (36-2, 19) II In 2015 we saw Japanese star Kazuto Ioka [井岡一翔] twice battle Juan Carlos Reveco. The first of those bouts saw Ioka take a controversial decision over the Argentinian, leading to a rematch at the very end of the year. April 22nd 2015- Prefectural Gymnasium, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Kazuto Ioka (16-1, 10) Vs Juan Carlos Reveco (35-1, 19) In April 2015 Japan's Kazuto Ioka [井岡一翔] had his second shot at a Flyweight title, as he took on Argentinian Juan Carlos Reveco, the then WBA "regular" Flyweight champion, at the Prefectural Gymnasium in Osaka. December 31st 2013-Bodymaker Colosseum, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Kazuto Ioka (13-0, 9) vs Felix Alvarado (18-0, 15) At the very end of 2013 Japan's Kazuto Ioka [井岡 一翔] battled against hard hitting Nicaraguan Felix Alvarado, in what was Ioka's third defense of the WBA Light Flyweight title. In the years that followed this bout Ioka would have success at Flyweight and Super Flyweight whilst Alvarado went on to win the IBF Light Flyweight title, making this a very significant bout when looking back on it. May 8th 2013-Bodymaker Colosseum, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Kazuto Ioka (11-0, 7) vs Wisanu Kokietgym (43-8-2, 13) Japanese star Kazuto Ioka [井岡 一翔] claimed the WBA Light Flyweight title at the very end of 2012. The following May he made his first defense as he took on Thai veteran Wisanu Kokietgym.

Kazuto Ioka (10-0, 6) vs Jose Alfredo Rodriguez (28-1, 17) After unifying the WBA and WBC Minimumweight titles in the summer 2012 Japan's Kazuto Ioka [井岡一翔] moved up in weight, to compete at 108lbs. In his first bout at the weight he clashed with Jose Alfredo Rodriguez for the WBA "regular" Light Flyweight title. September 11th 2013-Bodymaker Colosseum, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Kazuto Ioka (12-0, 8) Vs Kwanthai Sithmorseng (43-1-1, 22) At the end of 2012 Kazuto Ioka [井岡一翔] won the WBA "regular" Light Flyweight title. In his second defense, less than 9 months later, he took on Thai veteran Kwanthai Sithmorseng. September 8th 2018-Forum, Inglewood, California, USA Kazuto Ioka (22-1, 13) Vs McWilliams Arroyo (17-3, 14) In September 2018 we saw Japanese star Kazuto Ioka [井岡一翔] end a 16 retirement as he took part in his first international bout, taking to the ring in the US too battle talented Puerto Rican McWilliams Arroyo on as part of "Superfly 3". August 10th 2011-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Kazuto Ioka (7-0, 5) vs Juan Hernandez (18-1, 13) In his first defense of the WBC Minimumweight title the then 22 year old Kazuto Ioka [井岡一翔] took on Mexican challenger Juan Hernandez at the Korakuen Hall. |
