December 31st 2014- Bodymaker Colosseum, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Katsunari Takayama (27-7-0-1, 10) Vs Go Odaira (11-3-3, 1) At the end of 2014 we had an oddity in Japan as Katsunari Takayama [高山 勝成] and Go Odaira [大平 剛] faced off in a bout for the then vacant WBO and IBF Minimumweight titles in what was, essentially, a vacant world title unification bout. July 14th 2009-World Memorial Hall, Kobe, Hyogo, Japan Katsunari Takayama (23-3, 9) Vs Roman Gonzalez (23-0, 20) In 2009 former WBC Minimumweight champion Katsunari Takayama [高山 勝成] challenged WBA champion Roman Gonzalez, who was looking to make his second defense and his first in Japan where he won the title just 10 months earlier. March 12th 2009-World Memorial Hall, Kobe, Hyogo, Japan Katsunari Takayama (23-3, 9) vs Roemart Sentillas (7-4, 4) In 2009 popular Japanese Minimumweight warrior Katsunari Takayama [高山 勝成] battled against Filipino Roemart Sentillas. At the time Takayama was a former WBC champion who was moving towards another world title fight, which came 4 months later against the sensational Roman Gonzalez. April 22nd 2015- Prefectural Gymnasium, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Katsunari Takayama (28-7-0-1, 11) Vs Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr (27-3-1, 15) In 2015 we saw a rather forgotten controversy as IBF Minimumweight champion Katsunari Takayama [高山勝成] and Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr faced off in a forgotten thriller. This is well worthy of a watch for those who haven't seen it, and for those who have, it's certainly worthy of a rewatch. A real forgotten gem. August 9th 2014-Arena Monterrey, Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico Katsunari Takayama (27-6-0-1, 10) vs Francisco Rodriguez Jr (17-2, 13) In 2014 fight fans got an absolute treat as IBF Minimumweight champion Katsunari Takayama [高山勝成] travelled to Mexico to face WBO champion Francisco Rodriguez Jr. Whilst there has been a copy of this fight on here for a long time, this is the first time we've come across a Japanese commentary version, and one which is actually higher quality in video than the widely seen Mexican version. August 20th 2016-Komagatani Gym, Sanda, Hyogo, Japan Katsunari Takayama (30-8-0-1, 12) vs Riku Kano (10-1-1, 5) This past month fans in Hyogo had the chance to see a WBO Minimumweight title bout between teenager Riku Kano [加納陸] and veteran Grandslam champion Katsunari Takayama [高山 勝成].
