This past Saturday the excellent Rappler live streamed the full show "Battle of Bohol" which was headlined by local favourite Mark Magsayo, who took on Pungluang Sor Singyu, aka Panya Uthok. The card was focused on Magsayo but also featured some other great action including Renoel Pael and Giovanni Escaner, in what was a tremendously exciting fight.

April 22nd- Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Naoto Uebayashi (7-0-1, 4) Vs Giovanni Escaner (12-3, 8) One thing we love about Filipino fighters is how under-rated so many. We've seen fighters like Rey Loreto, Sonny Boy Jaro and Rey Megrino all show how their records don't equate to their ability. Another who tried to add himself to that list was Giovanni Escaner who traveled to Japan earlier this year to take on the touted Naoto Uebayashi, a former Japanese amateur who was tipped by some to be a future contender. July 26th 2014- Mandaluyong Gym, Mandaluyong Sports Center, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, Philippines Jason Canoy (19-4-2, 13) Vs Giovanni Escaner (11-2, 7) At the end of 2014 JM Siasat did an annual review of Filipino boxing for GMA Network. That review saw him describe Jason Canoy Vs Giovanni Escaner as the Filipino fight of the year and we've been very lucky to stumble on that fight which really was brilliant from start to end with both men unloading bombs on each other in a very memorable contest between two young fighters, each looking to make a name for themselves.
