December 11th 2015-Central Gym, Kobe, Hyogo, Japan Etsuko Tada (14-2-2, 4) v Kareli Lopez (8-5-3, 2) Female boxing in Japan is well regarded and the country does host numerous world title fights. The most recent of those was an IBF female Minimumweight title fight between Etusko Tada and Kareli Lopez. (Footage courtesy of nov K) In 2013 Japanese fighter Etsuko Tada lost a close split decision to Mexican Anabel Ortiz in Japan. This year we saw the two women fighting a rematch in Mexico. Much liek their first bout it was close with fighters making a great case for the win and the loser left asking what they needed to do to please judges, one of which seemed to have already made up their mind before the fight began. If you're a fan of female boxing we suggest you give this one a watch from start to finish, if you're not a fan it's a shame as this is a really solid contest fought at a high pace and with a solid level of skill from the fighters who were both cut by the end. |
