March 21th 2015-Jeonju South Korea Dan Bi Kim (9-3-2, 2)* Vs Lookkwan Sithpracha (?-?)** Korean fight Dan Bi Kim is one of the most rough and tough female fighters on the circuit. Earlier this year she fought for the WIBF Light Flyweight title against Thai opponent Lookwan Sithpracha. A number of take aways from this video is that Kim has improved, a lot, over the years and that the promoter seems to have booked an arena that was far too big for the fights that were on offer. Notably this fight isn't, at the time of writing, in the boxrec database. *Kim's boxrec record is missing a technical draw to fellow Korean Su Yun Hong ** At the time of writing boxrec list two fighters with the name of the Thai. They have a 7-2 (2) and a 0-2 record. We suspect they need merging and may still be incomplete. We all know that boxing is about levels and some fighters are simply better than others. A clear case of that was shown this year when Dan Bi Kim was made to look like a proverbial cave woman in her attempt to claim the WBA female Flyweight title against German boxing queen Susi Kentikian. The bout was a mismatch from the opening bell and as the fight progressed it appeared to become more and more lop-sided with Kentikian doing as she pleased as her Korean challenger. In a few days Kentikian will be hoping to prove she is better than another Asian fighter, Naoko Fujioka. That bout looks to be a much, much better one on paper than this one was and Fujioka is a much better fighter than Kim. Unfortunately for Kim she wasn't even close to being good enough to really challenge Kentikian. |
