Tepparith Kokietgym (18-2, 2) vs Daiki Kameda (22-2, 14)
In 2011 Thailand's Tepparith Kokietgym [เทพฤทธิ์ ก่อเกียรติยิม] went to Japan to face well known Japanese fighter Daiki Kameda [亀田 大毅], in what was Tepparith's first defense of the WBA Super Flyweight title.
The Kameda family is one of boxing's most controversial. Whether they win or lose they get attention and seem to raise eyebrows. Last year we saw all 3 brothers becoming world champions at the same time, setting a very impressive record at the time.
One of the most impressive performances, by any of the Kameda's last year saw Daiki Kameda, the middle brother, claim the IBF Super Flyweight title with an excellent victory over Mexico Rodrigo Guerrero. Going into the bout we had expected Guerrero to over-come Daiki though we need to admit we were impressed by the Japanese fighter who boxed well early on, on the back foot and then was able to show his toughness and trade late on.
Sadly for Daiki his reign ended in his first defence just a few months later and since then he hasn't fought due to major issues with the JBC, issues that have kept Koki Kameda out of the ring and prevented Tomoki from fighting in Japan.
Here we include some of the best, most interesting, most exciting or most eye catching videos from around the Asian boxing world.
