July 25th 2020-Central Gym, Kobe, Hyogo, Japan Kenichi Horikawa (40-16-1, 13) Vs Daiki Tomita (14-1, 5) Yesterday in Kobe we had the chance to catch an OPBF Light Flyweight title bout between 40 year old veteran Kenichi Horikawa [堀川 謙一] and promising youngster Daiki Tomita [冨田 大樹]. On Saturday Shinsei Gym streamed a double header from the Central Gym in Kobe. The bouts here were the OPBF Light Flyweight title bout, between Kenichi Horikawa (40-16-1, 13) [堀川 謙一] and Daiki Tomita (14-1, 5) [冨田 大樹] and the JBC Atomweight title bout Kaori Nagai (4-2-3, 2) [長井香織] and Momoko Kanda (10-12-2, 4) [神田桃子], who were meeting for the second time. October 10th 2019-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Kenichi Horikawa (40-15-1, 13) vs Yuto Takahashi (10-4, 5) This past week fight fans at the Korakuen Hall saw a Japanese Light Flyweight title fight, as veteran champion Kenichi Horikawa [堀川 謙一] took on young challenger Yuto Takahashi [高橋悠斗] April 21st 2017-EDION Arena Osaka, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Tetsuya Hisada (27-9-2, 17) vs Kenichi Horikawa (32-14-1, 7) III In 2017 Japanese fight fans in Osaka saw Tetsuya Hisada [久田 哲也] and Kenichi Horikawa [堀川 謙一] complete their trilogy in a bout for the Japanese Light Flyweight title, which had been vacated by Ken Shiro who was moving towards a world title fight. July 20th 2015-Namihaya Dome, Kadoma, Osaka, Japan Kenichi Horikawa (28-13-1, 5) vs Il Che (7-8-5, 1) It's fair to describe 2015 as a career defining year for Kenichi Horikawa [堀川 謙一] who scored his biggest late in the year, in fact he managed to squeeze 3 fights into the final 6 months of the year. The first of those 3 bouts saw him take on Il Che [諸 一宇]. December 27th 2015-Oyamazaki-cho Gym Otokuni-gun, Kyoto, Japan Ken Shiro (5-0, 3) Vs Kenichi Horikawa (30-13-1, 7) Japanese youngster Ken Shiro has been "one to watch" since his debut in mid 2014. To end 2015 he faced experienced Japanese Light Flyweight champion Kenichi Horikawa in what looked like a brilliant match up on paper and a real test of the youngster's credentials.
