May 22nd 2010-Auditorio Plaza Condesa, Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico Denver Cuello (21-3-6, 11) Vs Juan Hernandez (16-1, 13) In 2010 Mexican fans had some memorable action, some controversy, some confusion and some action packed fights. One such fight was the WBC world title eliminator between Filipino southpaw Denver Cuello and Mexico's very own Juan Hernandez. Although a relatively short, and somewhat sloppy, bout the contest saw both fighters being dropped and plenty of leather being thrown, even if it did feature some lulls in the action.

March 4th 1986-Osaka, Osaka, Japan Naoto Takahashi (6-0, 4) v Seiichi Katayama (4-3, 2) In 1986 Japanese fans saw Naoto Takahashi [高橋ナオト] claim the Rookie of the Year crown. In his final bout of the tournament he faced Seiichi Katayama, who had gone on a 3 fight winning streak coming in to this one, following a 1-3 start to his professional career. December 21st 2985-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Naoto Takahashi (5-0, 3) vs Toyokazu Sekito (6-1, 6) Japanese fighter Naoto Takahashi [高橋ナオト] became one of the must watch fighters of the 1980's, with a number of brilliant wars. Here we see an 18 year old Takahashi in an early career bout as he takes on Toyokazu Sekito, was was at the time a promising puncher. As with many Takahashi fights this one is really enjoyable with both men showing a willingness to swing heavy leather from the early stages. May 20th 2001-Sheraton Walker Hill Hotel, Seoul, South Korea Masamori Tokuyama (23-2-1, 5) Vs In Joo Cho (18-1, 7) II In 2000 the controversial Mamsamori Tokuyama [徳山 昌守], also known as Chang-Soo Hong [홍창수], became the first North Korean to become a world champion, as he over-came In Joo Cho [조인주] in Japan. The following year Tokuyama and Cho had a rematch in the South Korean capital of Seoul. Notably Tokuyama didn't fly the North Korean flag here but a flag to represent a unified Korea. August 27th 2000-Prefectural Gymnasium, Osaka, Osaka, Japan Masamori Tokuyama (21-2-1, 5) Vs In Joo Cho (18-0, 7) Japan's Mamsamori Tokuyama [徳山 昌守], also known as Chang-Soo Hong [홍창수], holds a distinct position in boxing history as the first fighter, fighting under the North Korean flag, to claim a world title. In his first title at the world level Masamori faced a South Korean fight, the then unbeaten In Joo Cho [조인주], the then WBC Super Flyweight champion. April 28th 1991-Indoor Gymnasium, Masan City, South Korea Myung Woo Yuh (35-0, 13) vs Kajkong Danphuthai (18-2, 10) In 1991 Korean great Myung woo Yuh [유명우] recorded his 17th defense as he over-came Thailand's Kajkong Danphuthai. March 24th 1983-Tokyo, Japan Kentoku Nakama (11-1-1, 6) vs Katsumi Sato (11-10-5, 2) In 1982 Katsumi Sato shocked some in Japan by winning the national Light Flyweight title, with a win that saw his record move to 10-10-4 (2). In the second defense of the title he took on Kentoku Nakama. September 20th 1987-Sunin Gymnasium, Incheon, South Korea Myung Woo Yuh (24-0, 7) Vs Rodolfo Blanco (16-5-1, 9) In 1987 Korean legend Myung Woo Yuh [유명우] made 3 defences of the WBA Light Flyweight title, one of which saw him over-come Rodolfo Blanco, who later went on to claim an IBF Flyweight title. June 14th 1986-Sum-In Gymnasium, Incheon, South Korea Myung Woo Yuh (20-0, 4) vs Tomohiro Kiyuna (15-1, 7) Korean great Myung Woo Yuh [유명우] was one of the Korean stars of the 1980's. Here wee see "Sonagi" defending the WBA Light Flyweight title against Japanese challenger Tomohiro Kiyuna. December 19th 1995-Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan Shinji Takehara (23-0, 18) Vs Jorge Fernando Castro (98-4-2, 68) In 1995 Japan's Shinji Takehara [竹原慎二] made history by becoming Japan's first Middleweight world champion.
