The start of a new week sees a pretty interesting card at the Kyushu Kyoritsu University.
Although we don't think we have full details on the card as of yet, what we have got are details from 3 bouts on the card.
The most noteworthy of the 3 bouts is a Super Bantamweight bout between Japanese based Mexican Cuauhtemoc Vargas (17-6-1, 11) and Filipino Alvin Tam (13-3, 3). Interestingly Tam is 0-1 in Japan (having been blasted out in 131 seconds by Yukihiro Nakamura 12 months ago) though Vargas, who now fights out of Fukuoka is 1-0.
At Light Middleweight, in the oddly hot Japanese domestic scene, Yosuke Kirima (16-3-2, 11) a former Japanese Light Middleweight title contender, faces Filipino Dennis Padua (9-7-2, 4). This bout seems to be about Kirima rebuilding his confidence against a smaller man following 2 losses in his last 4 bouts.
In the remaining bout that we have details about Yoshihiko Matsuo (14-5-5, 2) will be facing Korean Bantamweight champion Jong-Min Jung (4-5, 1). Whilst Jung is better than his record would have you believe he's not an amazing fighter (he has been matched hard) and we'd expect Matsuo to take a decision in what will actually be a pretty contest (despute the disparity in their records).
