According to Vesti.KZ unbeaten Kazakh Heavyweight hopeful Zhan Kossobutskiy (13-0, 12) [Жан Кособуцкий] has been pencilled in for his next bout, which is expected to take place on July 4th in the German city of Hamburg.
Vesti haven't just reported then when and where but also the what, with Kossobutskiy defending the lightly regarded IBO Continental Heavyweight title. That was the title he won back in November when he stopped Agron Smakici (15-1, 13) inside a round.
Although no opponent has been named for Kossobutskiy, there is said to be a chance that it could be a rematch with Smakici.
Although the bout does have a date there are still issues with the bout being officially announced. Firstly there is still an on going global issue, which is still affecting Germany along with many other countries. This is expected to make things difficult for Kossobutskiy to secure a visa to fight in Germany. If he can get that visa then it appears he'll be set for the date, and his team will need to secure an opponent. Whilst Smikici is a possibility, it does seem more likely that he will be up against a limited local opponent.
