Earlier today Japanese fight fans in Osaka saw Japanese Light Middleweight champiuon Yuki Nonaka (31-8-3, 10) [野中 悠樹] record his 6th defense of the title, as he stopped fellow veteran Yosuke Kirima (23-7-2, 16) [切間 庸裕] in the 10th and final round of their bout.
The champion looked in control from the opening moments and never really looked back with Kirima always looking like he was chasing the bout, and his few moments of fleeting success were easily forgotten as Nonaka controlled the tempo and distance of the bout.
Kirima tried to change the bout but lacked the skills to do and never managed to get any sort of a foot hold in the contest as Nonaka continued to chip away en route to what looked liek a very clear decision win.
Despite looking like he was cruising to a near shut out win Nonaka managed to hurt Kirima in the final round, rocking Kirima to his knees and a follow up attack forced the referee to save the challenger who never in the contest.
On the under-card of the bout fans saw OPBF ranked Pablo Carrillo (20-4-1 12) score a 2nd round TKO win against over-matched Thai Jakaphan Saengthong (5-2, 5) and an 8th straight win for Hayate Ikuta (7-0, 3) [幾田 颯], who needed just 65 seconds to blow away Sarawut Sujarit (0-7).
