Last week we reported that the Champion Carnival bouts for 2017 were all announced. That included a Japanese "interim" Flyweight title bout between Masayuki Kuroda (25-7-3, 15) [黒田 雅之] and Yuta Matsuo (12-2-1, 6) [ユータ松尾] which will take place on February 28th at the Korakuen Hall.
We now know that that card will also feature a notable debutant, with Kaiju Yuba (0-0) [湯場 海樹] now pencilled in for that card.
Yuba is the son of former 5-weight Japanese champion Tadashi Yuba, a hugely popular figure in Japanese boxing circles. Although his son is much less well known Japanese boxing fans do often follow the off spring of popular fighters with extra intrigue, as we've seen with the likes of Ken Shiro, Juiki Tatsuyoshi, Kenta Hatanaka and Rikki Naito, the same is expected to be the case here, especially with Tadashi's popularity, which came from his success and exciting style.
Although we've not yet been told who Yuba will be debuting against we expect to hear that announcement being made shortly.
