Tomorrow Japanese fans throughout the country will be able to see the exciting IBF Light Flyweight champion Akira Yaegashi (23-5, 12) [八重樫 東] defending his title against exciting Mexican warrior Martin Tecuapetla (13-6-3, 10), in what could be a genuine FOTY candidate.
On the scales today Yaegashi was 107.3lbs, well under the divisional limit of 108lbs. Despite making weight very easily the champion looked in tremendous condition and it's clear that he's been preparing for this bout for a while.
The confident challenger was heavier than the champion, coming in at 107.6lbs on the scales. For the challenger this was a career lowest, though he still looked in great shape and certainly doesn't seem to have killed himself to make the weight.
Yaegashi the clear betting favourite against Tecuapetla
