Earlier today Japanese fans at the Korakuen Hall saw WBO Asia Pacific Light Welterweighjt champion Akihiro Kondo (27-6-1, 14) [近藤 明広] score a stay busy win as he took out a horribly over-matched Thai foe in the 3rd of a scheduled 8 rounds.
The bout was the main event of "Fighting Bee 19" and whilst it was a mismatch it was a chance for Kondo to shake some ring rust before a potentially big bout in 2017, with many in Japan now suggesting a deal between Kondo and former Japanese national champion Hiroki Okada (14-0, 10) [岡田 博喜] is close to being complete.
The bout saw applying pressure from the opening moments, and his body work was hugely effective as he dropped the Thai with a nasty gut buster. In round 3 the body work was again key as he broke the Thai up before scoring the final just 89 rounds into the third round.
For fight fans looking forward to watching this contest, it will be featured on Asign boxing along with the rest of the Fighting Bee 19 show.
