Earlier today in Thailand we had the official medical screening for the first of this week's world title bouts. That bout, the WBC Minimumweight title bout set to take place on Thursday, thankfully saw both men passing the screening with no real issues as a hospital in Bangkok.
The bout, which will see unbeaten Thai Wanheng Menayothin (35-0, 11) challenge Mexican world champion Oswaldo Novoa (14-4-1, 9), looks likely to be a cracker and with both men passing the physical examinations with no issues it's hard to see either fighter making any excuses after the contest.
Novoa will be attempting to defend his belt for the second time and looked in fantastic condition at the screening as he has done since arriving in Thailand. As for Wanheng he too looked in great condition though he looked slightly less comfortable than the Mexican visitor who has looked alarmingly calm all week.
The weigh in for the contest will take place tomorrow and we suspect both men will be bang on the weight ahead of what promises to be a thrilling contest and a fantastic gelling of styles. For those wanting to watch the contest live it will be shown on Thai channel 7 who will begin their broadcast on Thursday at 14:00 local time.
