On June 3rd we'll see WBC Minimumweight champion Wanheng Menayothin (46-0, 17) [วันเฮง ไก่ย่างห้าดาวยิม] defending his title against Tanzania born Australian based fighter Omari Kimweri (16-3, 6), with the Thai looking to move closer to the 50-0 mark and make continue his title reign.
Today the two men went head to head as they took part in some formalities and medical check ups.
At the medical the two men were weighed, with Wanheng being the heavier man at 110lbs, whilst Kimweri was 108lbs. Both men were under the maximum allowed by the WBC for their 7 day weigh in.
Surprisingly, given the official measurements of the two men, Kimweri looked the taller man. He had been recorded, on boxrec.com, as being 4'11", but he appeared to be around 1" taller than the 5'2" Wanheng. A genuine surprise to many who had expected Kimweri to be the shorter man in the ring.
For fans interested in watching the bout it will be aired live on Channel 7, between 16:00 and 18:00 local time, with several other notable fighters expected to feature on the under-card.
