Earlier today Japanese promotional outfit Teiken announced that Shinsuke Yamanaka (26-0-2, 18) [山中慎介] would be back in the ring on March 2nd to defend his title against Mexican challenger Carlos Carlson (22-1, 13). The bout wasn't the only one announced for the show, which is looking like a rather star studded one.
The co-feature for the bout will be the Japanese Super Featherweight title bout between defending champion Kenichi Ogawa (20-1, 16) [尾川 堅一] and mandatory challenger Satoru Sugita (12-3-4, 7) [杉田 聖]. The two men had originally been pencilled in to headline at the Korakuen Hall but will now make up the chief support here.
Also on the card will be multi-weight world champion Brian Viloria (36-5-0-2, 22), who is facing a yet to be named opponent in his Teiken debut and IBF Super Bantamweight mandatory title challenger Ryosuke Iwasa (22-2, 14) [岩佐 亮佑], fighting in a stay busy fight.
Although not yet confirmed there is also speculation that touted American youngster Jesse Rodriguez (0-0) may also be making his debut on this show.
