Tomorrow Japanese fans get an intriguing card at the Korakuen Hall. Part of that card features a very good looking Japanese Super Flyweight bout between two JBC ranked fighters each looking to secure themselves anther title fight.
That bout will see 29 year old Toyoto Shiraishi (25-8-3, 12) [白石 豊土] face off against the 26 year old Hayato Kimura (24-8, 16) [木村 隼人].
On the scales today the blonde haired Kimura weighed in at 119¼lbs, dead on the contracted limit for the bout, whilst Shiraishi was slightly lighter at 119lbs.
For Kimura this is his second bout since a loss to Sho Ishida in a Japanese title fight last September, the bout is a big step up from his last contest at the end of 2015, against Wisan Ainson but it sees him returning to a level that he's fought at in the past. A win here will be pivotal if he's to get another shot given that he's 3-3 in his last 6.
As for Shiraishi, who is 2-2-2 in his last 6, this will see him trying to extend a 4 fight unbeaten run. We need to go back almost 3 years for his Japanese title fight, which came against Teiru Kinoshita, but he'll know a win here puts him in the running for another one.
