In December we reported that former WBC Flyweight champion Toshiyuki Igarashi (19-2-1, 11) was to make a return to the ring on February 7th. At the there was no opponent named however since then things have moved along and we now know he will be fighting against Mexico's Efrain Perez (17-5, 12), who last seen losing a 6 round decision in Macao to Filipino fighter Mark Anthony Geraldo in July 2014.
On paper this is a really good bout and Perez, whilst not the most talented, is tough and comes to fighter. In fact he may gave Igarashi a much tougher bout than his record suggests.
As well as the main event we also know that former OPBF Light Middleweight title contender Takehiro Shimokawara (19-9-3, 6) will be fighting for the first time since his stoppage loss to Koji Numata back in August. Shimokawara, who went 0-1-1 against Numata, will be fighting against Yuto Shimizu (8-2-2, 2) in what appears to be a very intriguing fight. On paper we suspect people will favor Shimokawara however Shimizu is unbeaten in 5 with recent wins over Hikaru Nishida and Toru Chiba
A third bout on this card will feature the heavy handed Kenichi Ogawa (13-1, 11) in action against a yet to be named opponent.
